Phoenix House has been supporting people living in the Bundaberg region since 1995, originally operating as the ‘Bundaberg Area Sexual Assault Service’. Since that time, we have grown exponentially and now provide a wide range of counselling and support services to people of all ages, for a variety of contexts, while stil providing specialist support to people who have been impacted by sexual violence.

We are a non-government and registered charity organisation, with many of our services funded through Federal and State Government grants.

We work hard to provide a ‘No Wrong Door’ approach to meeting the mental health, therapeutic, and wellbeing support needs of our local and regional communities. Ifwe are not able to provide direct supports, we will assist you in identifying local services who can.

Phoenix House offers telehealth and phone consultations when appropriate, allowing clients who are impacted by barriers like geographic location, transport challenges, or public health concerns like COVID-19, to continue to access to service provision and resources.

Phoenix House employees meet a range of disciplines inclusive of: Mental Health Accredited Social Workers, Social Workers, Accredited Counsellors, provisionally approved Psychologists, Psychologists, Qualified Mental Health Support Workers and several other disciplines and volunteers congruent with therapeutic counselling, education, and community support.

We welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and provide the option of engaging with one of our cultural liaison staff.

We are a diverse workforce and welcome people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds, and those who identify as LGBTQIA+.
